■ Chartered Cruises ■
  • If I cancel a chartered cruise reservation, will my payment be refunded?
    A cancellation fee may apply depending on number of days the cancellation is made prior to the reservation date.
  • How many days in advance do I need to contact you to cancel a chartered cruise reservation?
    A cancellation on the day of the cruise reservation will incur a 100% cancellation fee, whereas a cancellation at least 2 days in advance will only incur a 50% cancellation fee. No cancellation fee will be charged if departure is not possible on the reserved date due to a typhoon, bad weather or other such conditions. Please read our cancellation policy for further details.
  • How do I change my reservation?
    Please call us via telephone at least 1 day prior to your reservation date to make a change or cancellation. Any cancellation made without contacting us (including a no-show) will incur a cancellation fee.
  • Under which circumstances will a ship departure be canceled?
    Any weather- or disaster-related warning issued by the Japan Meteorological Agency may result in cancellation of ship departure. Additionally, weather phenomena such as typhoons, dense fog, strong winds and other foul weather may lead to suspension of operations.
  • If my reserved cruise is canceled, will my payment be refunded?
    If the customer decides to cancel on the day of their reservation, payment will not be refunded. However, if the shipowner or captain decides to cancel ship operations for the day, payment will be refunded.
■ Regular Route Operations ■
  • Can I take my bicycle onboard the ship?
    Bicycles are allowed on all ships. However, maximum permissible numbers of bicycles vary by ship; please check the ship operations calendar to confirm ship type.
  • When taking a bicycle onboard, do I need to keep it in a carrying bag?
    No, that is not necessary. However, if you are concerned about possible scratches, scrapes and other damage caused by impacts with other bicycles or objects, we recommend storing it in a carrying bag.
  • Where can I buy boarding tickets?
    In most cases, tickets are sold inside the ship. A boarding announcement will be made shortly before departure time; please board the ship when you hear this announcement and pay your fare inside. In some cases, customers may be asked to pay on the pier before boarding. Make sure to arrive at the boarding point at least 5 minutes before departure time.
  • Are bicycle transport charges separate from passenger fares?
    Yes. Individual route fares are available on this website. Please check fares for your intended route.
  • Do you recommend reserving a seats in advance?
    If you are traveling in a group of 15 people or more, make sure to reserve in advance. When not traveling in a group, reservations are possible, but you can board without an advance reservation.

    Provide the following information when making a reservation: ・Travel date and time
    ・Number of passengers
    ・Whether or not you will bring a bicycle or similar
    ・The name to be used for the reservation
    ・An emergency contact phone number for the day of travel

    Note: All seats are non-reserved; specific seat reservations are not possible. Ship operations may be canceled by the ship's captain due to strong winds, stormy weather or similar, in which case Setouchi Cruising will contact reservation-holders to inform them of the cancellation.
  • How far in advance of my departure time should I arrive?
    Please be at the appropriate pier at least 5 minutes in advance of your departure time.
  • Which criteria are used to make determinations regarding ship departure cancellations?
    Cancellations of operation may be made due to strong winds, high waves and similar. Please arrive with sufficient time before your scheduled departure time.
